Public Works Environmental Management Recycling Grant Program A recommended grant application workshop will be held Friday, February 17, 2:30 p.m. in the Public Works 3rd floor conference room. May 19Maui Matsuri Karaoke Contest Maui Matsuri will hold its inaugural Japanese Karaoke Contest at the Baldwin High School Auditorium in Wailuku on Friday, May 19, at 6:30 p.m., the evening preceding the 6th Annual Maui Matsuri, a Japanese Festival. Singers throughout Hawai`i are eligible to compete in the following divisions: Youth (up to age 17); Adult (18 to 59); and Senior (60 & above). Contestants must submit a completed entry form, a $10 check payable to the Japanese Cultural Society of Maui, and a cassette tape or CD of the contestant’s performance no later than March 17, 2006. The preliminary competition, which will be based on the contestant’s recorded performance, will determine the actual contestants to compete in the Maui Matsuri Japanese Karaoke Contest on Maui on May 19.
